How a Local Mediation Nonprofit Is Helping L.A. County Courts Clear Probate Backlogs

In less than two years, the MCLA Referral Program with the Los Angeles Superior Court has become one of the most relied upon resources for civil case resolution in the county.

Originally launched for general civil matters, the program expanded this year to include probate cases, especially guardianships and trust disputes, at a time when the courts are facing unprecedented backlogs.

LASC Presiding Judge Sergio C. Tapia II has recognized MCLA as part of the court’s plan to ease this congestion, calling the program an ADR resource resolving cases predictably and promptly. (Advocate).

Our probate mediation program is built on elite experience and nonprofit pricing, delivering exceptional value to clients and the courts alike. LASC Judges turn to our center as a trusted resource for litigants in a variety of case types as well as families in probate. Our nonprofit model keeps fees low while attracting some of California’s most sought-after mediators, delivering high-quality services at a fraction of the cost of for-profit providers.

The region’s most sought-after neutrals, united by our nonprofit mission to deliver justice that is both high-quality and affordable.

Join us this October at the SCMA Annual Conference for an exclusive Probate Mediation Workshop presented by MCLA Mediators.

At MCLA, we are proud to highlight the dedication and expertise of Leonard Gross, retired CPA and former CEO, COO, and CFO who discovered his talent for mediation after colleagues recognized his ability to resolve business conflicts fairly and efficiently.

Since then, he has trained extensively and mediated over 100 cases, specializing in: Landlord/tenant, HOA disputes, Commercial conflicts, Credit/collections, Workplace matters, and Unlawful detainers.

Leading up to Len’s career in mediation, he chased adventure on mountain peaks, trekking the Moreno Glacier in Patagonia honing the focus and determination he brings to both life and work.

“My climbing exploits occurred prior to mediation career path. Yet, serenity of mountains is ideal for planning strategy for resolving conflicts one may be facing”

MCLA Annual Team Retreat

This past weekend, our team gathered in Long Beach, California for our Annual Retreat. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on a successful year, plan for the year ahead, and celebrate the collaborative spirit that drives MCLA forward.

We held a dinner to honor our Founder and President,Myer Sankary on his birthday, celebrating the vision that started it all.
